a) Mr. Joel Adams, University of Western Ontario Research Park, Sarnia-Lambton Campus, will be speaking to County Council regarding the recent grants received from senior levels of government and the proposed development of the Research Park property.
b) Mr. Jim Foubister, Chair of the Child Poverty Task Force, and Mr. Doug Ball, Manager, Social Planning and Program Support, will be speaking to County Council regarding a community based model for the County of Lambton to adopt a strategy to reduce the number of children living in poverty in the community and presenting the Task Force's findings and recommendations.
c) Ms. Pamela Bodkin, Community Investment & Finance Director, United Way of Sarnia-Lambton, will be speaking to County Council regarding the Sarnia-Lambton Drug Strategy - Approach to Alcohol and Other Drugs in Our Community.

Recommendation

That the following correspondence items be received and filed:

a) 4-1-08  A resolution from The Corporation of the Town of Kingsville, dated March 12, 2008, advising that the Town has been selected as one of the top five (5) communities vying for the coveted crown of Kraft Hockeyville 2008.  The Town of Kingsville is requesting that all Municipalities within the Province of Ontario support the Town’s endeavours to become Kraft Hockeyville 2008.
b) 4-2-08  A letter from the City of Port Colborne, dated March 27, 2008, requesting support of its resolution concerning provincial funding to offset municipal costs relating to the compliance with O.Reg. 429/07 under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.  The City is asking to call upon the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) to petition for and work with the Province of Ontario on the development and provision of a proper and fair provincial funding mechanism to assist Municipalities and other provincially funded sector organizations in complying with the provisions of O.Reg 429/07 so that the financial burden imposed by the Regulation is fairly shared by all the residents of Ontario.
c) 4-5-08  Highlights of the Open Board Meeting of the Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Network dated March 25, 2008.
